2020 SPAA Student Art Competition

The San Pedro Art Association would like to thank all that participated in last years free event. If you participated last year then you already know what this means to all the kids! If you didn't take part in last years event, here is a chance to take advantage of this memorable artistic opportunity this year.

Last year we chose over 100 pieces of student art work, pre-kindergarten to high school. All the students' art work was professionally framed and displayed at Crafted for three months. Each student was awarded a 120 piece art set, ribbon and student membership with SPAA through their senior year high school. We also gave out over a $1000 in cash prizes. We are offering similar rewards this year except we will not have a opening reception. The twelve winners from each of the school levels will be shown at Crafted when the venue is allowed to open.

This year we have to deal with the closing of schools and public venues which has forced us to revamp our competition into an online venue. Student work will need to be submitted online. Just take a photo of the artwork with your camera and attach it to a message along with the student's name, school and grade. This can be done by you or by the student. Send to 310-831-2928. Or you can email it to spaa@sanpedroart.org

We are also accepting actual artwork delivered to SPAA at 376 W. 14th St San Pedro CA. It will need to be delivered by June 20th like the online art.

Also new this year is a video category. We know video is a very popular online medium these days and we would like to encourage students to explore the creative possibilities in short video clips. The clips can be sent by text or email along with the student name, grade and school. We will be offering cash rewards to the different grade levels just like the 2D art.

Students whose work is accepted for the online show will be sent a parental/guardian permission slip. Teachers will be able to sign in lieu of parents/guardians if authorized.

Below are the rules and information for the "2020 SPAA Harbor Wide All-Grades Student Art Competition" for distribution to the students.
